Orchestra and String Chamber Music
Based on the student’s preferences, every Hamp's Camper will participate in two different large ensembles, a chamber ensemble, and the Hamp’s Camp Ensemble. Each of these ensembles will be coached by our faculty and staff members. These ensembles can be from multiple concentrations — for example, a student could choose to perform in concert band, jazz ensemble, and a chamber ensemble — and our schedule is setup to accommodate a student with a variety of interests. If a pre-formed chamber ensemble plans to attend, please contact us via email about receiving a discount on camp tuition.
Strings
String players at the Lionel Hampton Music Camp will have the opportunity to work with outstanding professional faculty members from the Lionel Hampton School of Music in large ensembles and chamber ensembles. In addition to working on fantastic string music, students will be challenged each day to improve at their instruments and learn new ways to think about music.
Rehearsals will be led by string faculty at the University of Idaho. Please see our faculty page to view our currently scheduled faculty roster. If you do not see a faculty member for your instrument, please contact us to find out who will be teaching that instrument for this coming summer.
